Editor in Chief's Message

The journal ‘Communication and Cultural Trends' has recently embraced a vibrant and extensive perspective on topics like language education, applied linguistics, literature, culture, communication, and socio-cultural/legal issues. Its true potential is even more exciting and impactful than what has been explored so far. As I step into my new role as Editor-in-Chief, I eagerly welcome its full thematic range. This includes a fascinating variety of topics related to language and culture. For example, the 'Teaching and Learning' section highlights how motivation and emotional intelligence are vital, while 'Applied Linguistics' delves into translanguaging, bilingualism, multilingualism, and language practices. The 'Language, Identity & Culture' section emphasizes indigenous languages, linguistic diversity, cultural identity, and attitudes towards language. 'Literature & Cultural Studies' covers African literature, literary ideology, proverbs, morality, and cultural representation. 'Pragmatics & Discourse' explores how context, morality, ideology, and communication practices shape meaning. 'Intercultural Communication' focuses on cross-cultural interactions, values, and how we communicate across different linguistic communities. The 'Education & Psychology' section highlights motivation, emotional intelligence, teacher-student relationships, and learner behavior. 'Language & Society' addresses language policy, social power, institutions, and indigenous languages. The 'Culture, Institutions & Society' category discusses traditional knowledge, customs, social systems, and cultural practices. Finally, 'Emerging/Interdisciplinary Approaches' showcases innovative methods like computational analysis, empirical research, and mixed methods, offering exciting new ways to study language and culture. This rich landscape truly reflects the interconnectedness and importance of these fields. I wish the journal ‘Communication and Cultural Trends' a most successful continuation and spread over the academic and professional world.
